Spiderman, red hands, and plastic cheese

Since my class got cancelled today, I decided to use the time to write a new post. Again, procrastination wins. :)
This week has been an interesting one to say the least. And that's especially strange considering it's only Wednesday.
On Saturday I went to a lacrosse game with some friends. It was superhero theme night, so half the stadium was decked out in some form of super apparel. This would have been all well and good if it hadn't been for the appearance of Spider Man. Now, I'm as big a fan of Spider Man as anyone (who wouldn't be a fan of Tobey Maguire in tights,) but this guy was what can only be described as disturbing. The costume was a bit too tight, and emphasized some areas a bit too much (if you catch my drift). To add to it, he would continually be doing lunges and pressing his package up against the glass surrounding the field. We watched in terror the entire night, as he slowly made his way around the stadium towards us. Ugh, the memories give me the shudders...
Ashley and I have invented a new game. We went through a series of attempts to scare the hell out of each other, but have moved on to a hand slapping game. The goal is to smack the back of each others' hands as often as possible. It's become very competitive, with the smacks becoming more and more violent. It's developing into a strategically demanding game. More on this as it develops.
I have also become addicted to purevolume, mostly for its free downloads of indie bands. I'm really getting into more unknown stuff. It's addicting. Current obsessions include Everlea, Lions and Tigers and Bears, Boys Like Girls, Athlete, and the Ordinary Boys.
And I've secretly developed an obsession with Lady Sovereign. She's fabu :)

Adventures in Strip Aerobics...

This week my friend Melissa and I attempted the dreaded strip aerobics. Dressed in our finest spandex shorts and tank tops, we went through the humiliating process of realizing that we were far from sexy. Of course the video includes lots of hair flips and hip shakes that are supposed to make ANYONE look good, but these just led to us sitting on the floor, gasping for air and drinking water. I think I'll stick to the gym from now on....

This weekend was one of the dullest on record. It included chaperoning a party full of hormonal teens, a load of laundry, and 3 trips to Blockbuster. Although I successfully managed to avoid any form of homework, except for reading an English novel. Even I am becoming amazed at my procrastinating abilities.

And London in 3 weeks! I think I might die of impatience :)

So many videos...

These have been some of the most unproductive days in history for me. Much of yesterday was devoted to watching videos on youtube, the majority of which were SNL digital shorts. If you're bored you may want to check out mine and Ashley's latest discovery, the muffins video, which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNxwAU_xAMk.
I then spent the rest of the night sitting in a hot tub, slowly boiling myself to death.
Today I slept through my first class, and have devoted the rest of the day to re-watching youtube videos, and various episodes of Kenny vs. Spenny. I swear that may be one of the best shows ever created. :)
One of my other discoveries while procrastinating was a set of music videos by one of my favorite bands, The Fratellis. If you are looking for another time killer, you can watch one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSSjshnHZ38.

I swear, it was just dry ice!

What better way to begin a new year than with a dramatic run-in with the local police force?
Ok, it wasn't that exciting, but it was an interesting twist to a party I went to last night. At a friend's rockstar themed party, some people decided to play with some dry ice and pop bottles, each one letting off a loud bang. Well, someone misinterpreted this as being gun shots, and called the police. Soon 4 cop cars arrived, along with the police helicopter in tow. Needless to say, we didn't help the situation as most of the party resembled either drug addicts or prostitutes (remember the theme). The night reached a climax with 3 of the party goers ending up in the back of a police cruiser (one in hand cuffs) when they were seen running across the street to get a bass. Everything was eventually cleared up, but it was definately an interesting turn of events.

Other than last night's festivities, I haven't been up to much. I got my course overload, so I'm taking 6 classes this semester. It's going to be stressful, but I'll be able to graduate in 3 years. This feels like an extremely great accomplishment, since it seems that most people don't finish a 3 year degree in that span of time. My capstone is by far my most difficult class, and it will involve a research paper on the Northwest Rebellion. I swear every aspect of my life somehow relates back to the fort!

Blah, that's enough procrastination for tonight. I officially have the worst study skills of any senior university student in history.

Catching up

Wow, I haven't written since October. And what's really sad is that nothing overly exciting has happened since then. But since I'm trying to procrastinate on writing my American hist. paper I'll fill you in...

Life since October:
- I turned 19. Me and a bunch of people went out, and I'd like to forget a lot of what happened that night. But luckily for me (thanks Meg and Leila), there are many photos to document it. Hurrah for cameras! The night was fun though. I even got to dance with an oompa-loompa! :D
- I've also learned to function on 4 hours of sleep a night. This is due to the fact that I put off writing all assignments until the night before they are due, and that I visit into the wee hours of the morning with anyone who's up. And it's easy to do. Everyone in this house suffers from insane sleep patterns...
- I've also seen WAY too many episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The girls in the house did a marathon of all 7 seasons. And the sad fact is, I'm totally hooked!
Well, that's about. I did mention that it hasn't been an extremely exciting couple of months. But that's ok, MCR is coming up soon, and I'm looking forward to becoming emo for a night! :D

Bored...

I'm starting to worry that I'm not more stressed about my classes. I have my first essay due on Wednesday (I haven't started it yet), and I had my 2nd reading test today, and I just know I failed it. And yet, I can't seem to sit down and work. Must get my relaxed/lazy attitude from this summer out of my mind...

Haven't got many plans for the weekend. Probably going to a basketball game tonight, and my friend is trying to convince me to go bar hopping tomorrow and then crash at his place. I don't see it happening though, and I'm trying to think up a good reason not to go. Hmmmm, is mysterious 48-hour flu a little too sketchy???
