Adventures in Apartment Hunting

I've just noticed that it has been exactly one month since my last post, and since I'm sick with the flu (and feeling bad for myself as a result), I decided to write again.
The past month has been insanely busy. First off, London was AMAZING! I can't wait to go back next year. I'm one of those people who hates standing out as a tourist, so I quickly decided to blend in by buying a pair of boots, listening to my ipod and ignoring others on the underground, and walking across the street when the "don't walk" light was clearly lit. I know, I'm such a rebel. Anyways, these actions helped me to fit in, despite my adorable Canadian accent. Of course, I did all the touristy things, such as go to see the Tower of London, which as a history nerd I absolutely loved. It was super tourist-ish (the worst fact being that they had a mascot which was a cartoon raven named Thor...it seems wrong somehow for a former prison) but enjoyable nonetheless. I also enjoyed being part of an anti-war protest at Trafalgar Square. I stumbled upon it accidentally, and was suddenly swept up in the wave of 100,000 angry protesters. Good times! :)
Melissa and I have been searching for apartments for the past few weeks, and were getting stressed about it. Luckily we finally found a great place for a reasonable price downtown. The building is one of the ugliest things I have ever viewed from the outside, but everything is very modern and nice inside, which is far more important. About 5 weeks until we can finally move in.
I am currently obsessed with Lily Allen and Beck. Other faves are Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Mika. I'm beginning to feel that I spend far too much time searching for new music...
