You make me feel...not bad

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see" - Mark Twain

New musical discoveries of the week are: Earwig, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Band of Horses, Head
Automatica, and TV on the Radio

I've become obsessed with the indie radio station on Yahoo. It's at http://music.yahoo.ca/, for anyone who's interested.

I also went through Ashley's music collection, and have rekindled my love affair with Savage Garden. She, on the other hand, has done the same with Robyn. Remember her? Good chance you don't, but I'm sure Savage Garden brings back fond (or potentially awkward) memories of junior high dances.

I'm currently working on a ethics paper on modern infanticide in North America, and it's very disturbing. Unfortunately, it's far too late to change subjects. Oh well, I'll just have a great deal of knowledge about something I not even remotely interested in. Sort of like doing the labs for math last year...

This weekend I'm heading home for my dad's birthday. He's turning 52. Seriously, 52. That makes him seem old. As a matter of fact, that makes me feel old...

Today my mom and I went through the photos in her wallet. She carries a photo of me from every school year, plus baby photos. It was fun, looking back on the good ol' days of my youth. People often comment on how cute her daughters are, as she has two photos side by side when she opens the wallet. One is me in kindergarten, all adorable with my blonde hair, and the other of me in grade 12, a self-conscious redhead. I like that she carries photos of me, but it seems a bit overkill to have one from each year of my life in her wallet. Do all parents of only children do this? I doubt it...
